Professional study plus in-house training are conducted frequently by our Training Officer, who has extensive experience in this field. Various external training organisations are also engaged to provide courses not offered in-house.
Rest assured, our home is registered with the Care Inspectorate and inspected regularly. If you wish to see a recent report, all you need to do is ask.
Staff Training
Thorntoun has earned a distinguished reputation as a training centre of excellence. We invest heavily in our people and their constant development, which brings immense reassurance to residents and their families as well as a low staff turnover. Only those who pass stringent staff checks are ever recruited.
All care assistants undertake training in health & safety, first aid, equal opportunities and general resident care as part of their demanding SVQ training. Our trained nurses undertake Workplace Assessor Training to TDLB standard to assess the work of our care assistants.
